Tamarack Quilted Jacket Class (Jan. 8-Feb. 12, 2025)
6 classes: Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. @ Anthology Studio, 77 Suffolk St. W. (Jan. 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb. 5, & 12, 2025)
The Tamarack Jacket is the original indie quilt coat! Now you can make your very own, just in time for spring, with expert guidance every step of the way. Learn garment making basics along with some more intermediate skills like quilting, inserting welt or patch pockets, applying bias binding, inserting snaps, and multiple seam finishing techniques. Check out #tamarackjacket on Instagram for tons of inspiration.
From the designer:
Designed with the transitional seasons in mind, the Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering. Follow one of the two quilting designs included, or design your own to make your Tamarack totally original to you! You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.
Sewing Level: Intermediate. Confident basic sewing skills and some experience with garment sewing will be helpful. There will be homework in between classes in order to finish in six weeks!
The pattern comes in two size ranges: 0-18 and 14-30. Please check the measurements prior to registration so that you can select the correct pattern size.
Fabric requirements, notions, and supplies needed can be found in the pattern listing (linked above). I carry the heavy duty snaps the pattern calls for (and have the press for installing them), and basting pins.
Cost: $335, including printed and pdf pattern, not including fabric or supplies
