gather + make with us
Welcome!
I'm Becky. I've been sewing for as long as I can remember and teaching others to sew for over a decade. I'm happiest when I'm making things, and I'm grateful that I get to share my love of sewing and textiles with others.
Through gather + make, I teach sewing classes in Guelph and curate The Circular Textile Project, a collection of high quality reclaimed textiles that I source locally and offer for sale to other makers.
So whether you're brand new to sewing or it's already your favourite thing to do, come and join our friendly and welcoming group of sewists as we gather + make.
What are circular textiles?
Circular textiles are simply fabrics, yarn, clothing, and other woven, knit, and stitched textiles that have reached the end of their first life cycle, but, instead of being discarded, are “circled” back into use, ready to be upcycled, reused, or refashioned into something new.
Textiles make up one of the fastest-growing waste streams on the planet. By diverting textiles from waste, gather + make is helping to build the circular economy and reduce the amount of new textiles produced globally and consumed locally in our community.
