Bring your own projects for self-guided sewing in community!

Friday Sewing Society is open to everyone, regardless of skill level or sewing experience. Whether you're brand new to sewing or you know what you're doing and just want to pencil some creative time into your schedule, come join us and sew in a warm and inclusive environment, in our bright and welcoming studio space. You'll have access to our space and work/cutting tables, a shared serger, and shared tools and notions (sewing tools, rotary cutters and mats, rulers, irons, pressing and tailoring tools, and more).

You'll also get to draw on the expertise and guidance of an experienced sewing instructor (Becky, founder of @gather.and.make) who will be there to help with any challenges or pain points in your sewing - measuring/fitting, pattern alteration, advice on techniques, fabric selection, general sewing cheerleading, and more! 

Fall 2024 Dates (Fridays from 12 - 2:45 p.m.): Every Friday afternoon from Sept. 6 - Dec. 13, 2024

Location: Anthology Studio, 77 Suffolk St. W., Guelph

Cost: $28 per session (BYO sewing machine); machine rental available at an extra cost (see below)

Multi-Class Discount: If you register for 4 or more sessions at once, you'll automatically get a 20% discount, making the cost only $22.40 per session. This discount will automatically be applied to your cart at checkout (you should see the code FRIDAYVIP).

To register for multiple days at once, you will have to select each date and then add to your cart one at a time. 

What to bring: Your sewing machine (if you'll be using it - hand sewing also welcome!), sewing kit, thread, your project, and any other supplies you'll need. We remove outdoor footwear in the studio, so please wear cozy socks or bring indoor slippers. Feel free to bring food/drinks - we have access to a kitchenette and fridge, and have a kettle and a selection of tea and coffee to share.

Sewing machine rental: Sewing machine rentals are available on a first come, first served basis, at an additional cost of $12 per session. Please email to confirm machine availability for your date(s), then send payment via e-transfer to becky@gatherandmake.ca.

Missed classes: Refunds for missed classes are not provided, but you're welcome to make up a missed class on another day, space permitting. If you have to miss class, just send me a quick email to let me know which date you'd like to attend instead.

Participants: Space is limited to 7 people per session (Registration in advance is preferred, but drop-ins are welcome if space allows! If a class is not listed as sold out, then come on by and you can pay via cash or etransfer.) If you'd like to attend a sold out session, send me an email to be added to the waitlist in case a spot opens up.
